Following the clubs AGM in December 2012 it was overwhelmingly agreed by our members that from this year forward the club would nominate 2 charities as their charity partners for the year ahead. The club commitee have discussed at length and are delighted to announce that for the 2013 season Portaferry GAC will be supporting the great work of

1. MacMillan Cancer Relief
2. Autism NI

Both Charities have been issued with correspondence informing them of our decision.

The way this will work is that for every event held within the club by the club we will donate a % of takings to these charities. In order to get the maximum sum for our charities the club at the end of the its financial year will split the charity fund 50/50 and donate equal amounts to them. Although the club have supported other charities over the previous years it was agreed to nominate two and these will change year to year. The members know the terrific charity work that goes on especially with people in our own communities and we believe that these two charities are without doubt worthy recipients of anything we can donate.
The first of these events where a % will be deducted and put into the charity fund will be our Boxing Fight Night "Clash Without The Ash"..
In future all posters advertising any club events/functions will carry the nominated charities logos but unfortunately it was too late to have them printed on the posters for this event. We hope to raise lots of money for our charities and with this money we hope to make a difference.
