**ST.PATRICKS GAC CHARITY CYCLE** This years charity cycle will be on Friday 12th July leaving the clubrooms and going out Ballyfounder Road to Old School house Corner taking a left along Millin Bay and straight through to Knockinelder. Once there you take another left as we head back in along the Ballyblack Road and finally left at the Diamond back to the clubrooms. Total of 6 miles. We also hop...e to have the younger cyclists in the chapel car park pedalling around their wee course and will be well supervised by club members and absolutely anyone else who wants to help out. The reason for the short 6 mile course is that there will be a number of inexperienced cyclists on the road and it will be easy for everyone to be checked on, marshalled, assist, support and quicker to repair any punctures or mechanicals or in the event any is banjaxed then the support vehicle will be able to give them a lift home.. This is open to everyone from members to non-members. The park will be open for people to change in and also to refuel after with a variety of goodies on offer. ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TOWARDS OUR 2 NOMINATED CHARITIES NAMELY MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT AND AUTISM NI who continue to do good work for people in our local communities. This is only an early notice in event you need to pump up those tyres and hit the road in time for the event. We would hope as many people will take part as possible and a donation is all that will be asked from everyone taking part. We would also ask that anyone taking part wears a cycling helmet as i have recently witnessed a crash whereby a helmet saved a riders life so if you don't have one perhaps you could source one or indeed share one with another rider after they have completed. Times and further arrangements will be given at a later date. Our annual sports day will run after this in the park. We would also like to thank Portaferry Gala who will be putting this cycling event into their programmes this year and would hope that the change of date will ensure more people taking part. Thanks..
