Busy weekend

Last weekend saw the start of the busiest time of year for the club and what a start. We had 6 players involved with the u14 and u16 Down hurling development squads and 5?involved in the down camogie team. Top performances from all involved resulting in the shield and cup winning teams for the hurling and the girls are through to the ulster camogie final. Well done to Ronan Blair, Callum Smyth, Niall Fitz, Tom Murray and Daniel Kelly, Daithi Sands and to the girls Lauren savage, Jenny and France's toner, aine roissetter and Nuala Mageean.

Then on sat night saw the 2nds defeat Laitroim in the joe McCrickard semi final, and on Sunday the minor hurlers retained their Down Minor Hurling championship defeating Ballycran. Congrats to Sean, Barry, Gary and the team on this achievement. Then on Sunday the u14 hurlers defeated Carryduff in the championship but unfortunately the senior camogs couldn't top off what an unbelievably successful weekend it would have been when they were beaten by Ballycran in the championship semi final. Hard luck girls. But to the rest congrats, this year is already shaping up to be a good 1. Well done to everyone involved and keep it up.
